"Art you Wear” is the only way to describe the one of a kind and very distinctive jewelry that Heather has been creating and selling at only a few shows each year. Individually made lampworked glass sculptural components go into every piece and each features not only vivid & varied color but unique shaping and surface embellishments.
Heather finds inspiration for designs everywhere she goes and uses contemporary influences as often as possible in this ancient art form. She continues to explore new techniques and keeps her designs fresh and funky!
To answer an often asked question, Heather’s love affair with glass began many years ago when reading a novel about a glass blower in Ireland…hence the name of her company. Can you guess the author that inspired?
An artistic creation as your choice of personal adornment is not for the timid but it doesn’t have to be for a select few either. Affordable and comfortable is also an important feature that Heather and her company Born in Fire strive to achieve.
Life is short and Heather doesn’t like to miss much so she is also always working in numerous other mediums such as: fibers with large architectural sculptures, paper and fiber weaving, kiln formed glass sculpture, and painting & collage design.
